Moon River is about two lovers, slowly drifting apart as they take on different paths in life, but, however sad that may be for both of them, they know it’s the best thing to do, and as they move on, memories, wether good or bad will still remain.
There is still a sense of attachment, felt by the two, “wherever you’re going, I’m going the same”, but they know they’ll have to keep going.

me and my ex broke up a little bit ago. i truly fell head over heels for her. this song takes me back to all the amazing times we had together. its sad realizing that we didn't get the ending we wanted. the future planning, trips, etc. all fell in a seconds notice. however, i wish nothing but the best for her. ally i truly wish things had worked out between us. you'll always be my forever valentine.
