Another blog, another wild camp. Back to The Mournes as usual, this time we headed for Carn Mountain in The Mournes and camped on the Summit. It was very windy throughout the course of the night, with wind gusts exceeding 60mph. The Hilleberg Soulo coped very well in these windy conditions. All in all, another great summit wildcamp.

That was a wild one 😊 The wall can make such a difference to having some shelter, though hard to account for a change in wind direction. It all turned out fairly well though, apart from the lack of sleep and the bent pole 😊 A great experience and test for the tents.

Ah, in that wind I would have slept like a baby. I love windy nights & especially in a tent or small cabin. The windier the better, up to 80mph.

Another great video Adam. Was it Sat night that you were out? You must be checking the wind forecast for the best nights!! There are lots of tips on the Hilleberg Channel re using your tent in high winds (adding extra guy lines and support for pegs incase they are the pull out of the ground!) Tom

Of course what it shows is a £150 wild country tent withstood the wind as well if not better than a £800 Hilleberg tent. You don’t need to spend stupid money to get a good tent
