I am here in Rakieta coffee shop in Krakow, Poland [actually in Warsaw] and I ordered two cappuccinos. And here is my barista. And the barista is the person who works at the coffee bar.

“Hello, how are you?”
“Fine, thank you. How are you?”
“Very good.”

She makes fantastic coffee. She’s going over here. And there are coffee beans up above. And then she moves that handle and grinds the coffee.

“I have to turn it on.”

“OK. Turn it on ok.”

She’s now grinding them. And several times she takes the ground coffee and puts it back inside to grind it again. And she does this to make the pieces of coffee small. We can say that she is grinding them finely. Now she’s pressing them. And there’ll already here. So, you’re going to learn lots of words. She checks the temperature of the water. She fastens that tightly, and now through the magic of this machine she’s going to brew me a delicious cup of coffee.

And in the pitcher—that metal pitcher she has—there is steamed milked. She’s going to make some more. This is…you add some milk there. She’s going to bring this over to the machine and put in this nozzle. And there you can see the steam coming from the hot water, and she uses the steam to force its way through the milk, and this creates foam: lots of little bubbles, lots of foamy, frothy milk that will be poured on top of the coffee. And the end result is a delicious cup of cappuccino.

That’s maybe my favorite part. Of course, she is very careful she sets off some steam before and after to make sure that the nozzle is clear. That thing is called a nozzle: that piece of metal. And she carefully pours the foamed milk on top of the coffee. And she inspects it because she is a careful and creative barista. She might be a little bit nervous—or I should say you might be a little bit nervous—because we are now making you kind of famous. But within an hour or so, several thousand people are going to see you, and you, and my coffee, and to prove that it’s me, they’re going to see me. Hi everybody, I’m wearing my Kyrgyz hat.

And we’re going to stop now.

So, you’ve learned words about the preparation of coffee and cappuccino and other kinds of coffee. And now after all this work, it’s time for me to enjoy.
