I really love how they kept the map but added those nice changes to make it look like it's actually progressed through time. Same world, different feeling. Really, I can't help but admire the team that made it.
Also, I can't help but feel like a lot of TOTK has a very strong connection to Skyward Sword. Like obviously, yeah, with the Master Sword, Fi talking to Zelda, floating islands, dead leviathans, the intro obviously hinting at SS Link and Zelda moving to the surface, yada yada, the list goes on. But lowkey hoping that loftwings make a return. I'm really curious to see if they survived.

I went to the shrine of resurrection and after dealing with the threat I tried to take the exact same path I took when I played BotW for the first time. It’s was nostalgic af and made me sad the old man or king Rhoams spirit wasn’t there.

In all fairness, technically the shrine of resurrection should have been transported as it was also an elevator for Vah VroomVroom. I'm well under the assumption the elevator ACTUALLY just never went back when we were done fighting the Sheikah monk. Its purpose was served, and during the Upheaval the remains must have been completely destroyed.

Another thing to mention, the area on top of the temple of time where you got the paraglider in botw will now give you an item called ‘nostalgic fabric’ to change your paraglider to look like the one from botw. It’s a cute little love letter to people who played the last game

Going back to the temple of time brought back some memories of the first time I played botw. I almost teared up

If you go to the shrine of resurrection, you'll spot a yiga disguised as Zelda where Rhoam was at the beginning of BoTW

If you climb up to the top of the temple of time in the great plataue you can actually get a fabric for your paraglider that makes your paraglider look like the Breath of the Wild one.
