I went through RIP in August of 2008 then off to 3rd rgr bat. There wasn’t much training /learning in RIP haha. It was most getting your balls crushed and face smoked off on a blazing hot black top until the RIP cadre were content with the number of soldiers that quit. Day after day of getting the shit smoked out of you for 4 weeks. Good times. RLTW BOYS!

I wish that I had went through US Army Ranger school. I went to US Army Airborne school and I just wished that I would have went to ranger school.

Previous to RASP, we had RIP!! Three weeks of hell!! We Rangers are THE ONLY SOF Units that literally have to EARN two separate designation to remain in SOF Units...not to mention most of us held at least two different MOSs as well.

Question, my son(who is in basic) is wanting to go to Ranger school after he finishes Airborne....will he be considered a Ranger when he gets his tab, or does he have to get the scroll to call himself a Ranger?
