I always wondered why my grandfather never talked about the war. Until he showed me the pictures of camps that he had liberated. He drank for 40 years before he got sober from the horror of war. God bless these men.

My Grand father was one of the ones hunkered down with no air support no medicine ran out of Ammunition. The Battle of the Bulge. Grandpa was shot 4 times as well. God bless you sweet man.

"They didn't know how to smile anymore" just breaks the soul to pieces. the psychological torment those people had undergone was not human. The mind has various ways of coping with traumatic experiences, they were all forever changed by a terrible evil.
