I understand why Mu Qing is one of the top fav characters in tgcf by most readers because his character is the most understandable of them all, he was a servant working hard because of his underpreviledged background and because of that he was accused of stealing xl's earrings that he had to look for what was stolen for years to prove his innocence and even tho he left xl and fx he had his reasons to support his mother but humiliating and btch slap [i cant remember if it was actually a slap, i read the translations that was not yet updated and oficialized but it was stated that he was part of bullying xl by making fun of his situation] xl in front of 33 made him a jerk he explain it to him that he had to because he did not have a choice which xl knows thats a shty excuse, he gave xl and fx a sack of rice for feeling bad of being a jerk but xl threw the sack at him which he deserve for being a jerk, but even when jung wu ordered him to kll xie lian and he declined shows that he had no ill intention to xl, that he had curse shackles by jung wu because of him decilining, he even financially supported feng xin's lover and child without fx knowing he had a child, he broke the law of making the dead baby into a ghost baby because he felt sorry for jzian le/fx's lover losing a child, because of him getting raised by a single parent, he wants to take the burden of the mother, he visits ghost city to give them gifts if i remembered coreectly. He was a sure friend to Feng Xin by taking care of his family w/o him knowing anything, fx might take him wrong in a bad light or stealing fx's role of being a father when he did not, he was just a kind person who wanted to help and he knows feng xin's struggles.


I also understand why some rank Ling Wen as the least, because of what her backstory on what happened when she ascended which was cruel but understandable in a pov of surviving i guess ? even tho she took advantage of someone just so she can make a robe that protects herself and i don't know what she was protecting herself from i respect her for trying to survive but its disturbing where that cloth came from, i admire her character on being a greyer side, knowing she works all day and she's actually related not just a sideline character, for being one of the three tumors in the heavens, its funny how the ling wen, pei ming, shi wudu are the trio of taking a person's life or taking advantage of people when they ascend in the heavens, thats probably why they are called the three tumors said by SQX or maybe they are called like that because of the trio actin like the mean girl hierarchy 💀 like theres memes of the trio being straight up mean girls 😂
