Rehearsal for May 2010 Synergia Orchestra benefit concert in Tacoma WA, Howard Leese, Roger Fisher, Steve Fossen and Michael Derosier - the orginal four members who became Heart with asskicking young Somar Macek. I'm not really into reunions but this was fresh and exciting. Shot by Mark Nichols on a Canon 5d dslr.

Love seeing Roger Fisher, Howard Leese, and Michael Derosier playing together.

Roger Fisher is one of rock and roll's most creative guitarists. Heart was never the same after he was gone.

The guys in Heart deserve more credit. I love the Wilson sisters, and there's no question that they were trailblazing women in rock. Ann is probably the all-time greatest female vocalist in rock, and Nancy was one of the few female guitarists in the '70s. But...these guys were great musicians who gave the band that muscular Zeppelin-esque sound. Subsequent line-ups haven't captured that sound. Even the '80s Heart sounded much better than the current line-up because Howard was still around.

I started playing guitar because of Roger Fisher. He was the epitome of cool on stage. So much stage presence. When the original band played together there was a synergy that was magic.

They had a killer groove that was as important as that freaking incredible voice! Good Lord no one could sing like that Girl. Each player was clearly a perfectionist when it came to the tone of their instrument. It’s unreal how consistently this old lineup sounds every time I hear these old jams. Such a professional delivery every time. Badass

The guys sounded good after all those years, hearts line up on the first 4 albums was the greatest!

Love hearing the original guys jam the tunes they made. Now THIS is what the song sounds like.

-you can definitely hear and feel the difference.. between the REAL "HEART"... and later lineups !!!

Roger and Howard, MADE Heart sound like they did. Both brilliant players and writers. Heart wouldn't have had the success they did without them.

That sounds so powerful, it's the real deal..these were the guys on the ground floor that wrote the music, Ann & Nancy have used "replacement" players over the years to keep the music going, but nobody can play it the way they do...Thanks for posting this awesome video...!!

Mr. Derosier certainly influenced my drumming...very underrated drummer for some unknown reason because he is a monster.

I could watch that drum fill at :51 a thousand times. Mike Derosier was the perfect combination of smooth and thunder.

Derosier is the sxxt. . . Possibly most underrated drummer for that era. . . People think Barracuda is like a simple song to play but the drum track on this thing is awesome. . . You hear the versions Heart Does without him and it never sounds quite right. Like it is dragging all the time. In the original band Derosier is doing these off time/half time beats in the midst of the guitar riffs that absolutely make it, and then he is just so crisp and ahead on the upbeat accents . . .

Still one of my favorite songs for drums. Michael DeRosier is really freaking good.

That drummer is badass, my favorite drumming line in any song ever. Nice to hear it fresh again, thanks

That was awesome. I just keep having to come back and catch this every so often. Much of the original sound, right here. If I was Derosier, I think I'd have to grow the hair back out. He had the ultimate natural perm curly hair look going back in the day. Was always jealous my hair wold never look like that . Love these guys big time. My favorite band/group, with the best range of sounds/songs.
