Why do Earth faults occur in a transformer? When the transformer neutral is grounded, this fault trips the HT breaker. And if we isolate neutral there is no tripping occur, Are there any solutions to get rid of this?

But i don't understand how can current flow back to the transformer via ground ?? 🤔
This question always bother me !!

Like suppose earth fault occured on transmission line 100 meter away from its transformer... How can current flows back to 100 meter away transformer ? I mean earth is a such good conductor??
