Idris Elba (Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, The Suicide Squad) stars in a pulse-pounding new thriller about a father and his two teenage daughters who find themselves hunted by a massive rogue lion intent on proving that the savannah has but one apex predator. Elba plays Dr. Nate Daniels, a recently widowed husband who returns to South Africa, where he first met his wife, on a long-planned trip with their daughters to a game reserve managed by Martin Battles (Sharlto Copley, Russian Doll series, Maleficent), an old family friend and wildlife biologist. But what begins as a journey of healing jolts into a fearsome fight for survival when a lion, a survivor of blood-thirsty poachers who now sees all humans as the enemy, begins stalking them.

The cinematography of Nate running back to the jeep was 'thrilling' to say the least.

While the idea of lions that hunt humans may seem unlikely, the events of Beast did actually happen in Kenya in 1898 by a pair of maneless lions called the Tsavo Man-Eaters

This was by far one of the best animal horror movies we've gotten in a long time, plus this movie was based on a true story of the Maneaters of Tsaavo, just like the 2007 movie Prey and The Ghost and the Darkness, except that The Ghost and The Darkness actually was based on the actual true story.

I love my dog too, but not against a wild beast let alone a lion. I love Idris's acting, but against a lion he'd have been legless.

My mom told me stories of how man eating lions had this uncanny ability to open train windows and get the men who were building the rails a really long time ago. This movie is definitely based off true events. Man eating lions have a different level of intelligence some people thought they were wizards come back for vengeance
