I Usually Don't leave A Lot Of Comments On Here But I have To Say You're Not Only A Good Drummer But First And Foremost A Real Good Educator! Thanks, Brother Nick !

I'm astounded by the amount of drummers with electronic kits that haven't utilized their MIDI output into a DAW with a VST drum plug-in.

This is exactly why I'm buying an electronic kit. I wanna record drums at home and not mess around with noise complaints while having access to top tier samples.

I’m doing this with my band since 2018, in all our shows we are using the e-kit and ez drummer with phenomenal results

Nick, your presentations are just as great as your drumming! Nice work on all of your vids! Thanks so much!

Awesome video. I just got EZ Drummer 3 (my first time using a drum VST) and am seriously impressed with it so far. Looking forward to using it with my e-drum kit!

This is like a drum machine app for my computer that I can play/record into with my TD-50? WAY COOL!! thanks for another great video Nick!

Great, easy to understand presentation, Nick. I've been using this to record our album in Logic pro. It's also great to as well as record using MIDI from my Roland kit to trigger the kits in EZ Drummer, to also take stereo lines out from the brain and record the audio at the same time. Before using DAW, I spent so long editing my Roland to build my perfect kit to the music we are creating, it's interesting to hear them both in comparison.

Fantastic thanks. Was using EZdrummer 2 with my new Roland VAD-307S and now see how much better version 3 is for v-drum integration, time to upgrade!

Another awesome video by Nick. However, I like to point out that there are differences between the standalone version and the plugin version in the setup instructions.
I am using this with Ableton Live 11, but this should apply to all or most DAWs. When using the plugin version (which I think is really a call to the standalone
version passing a parameter that places it into a "plugin mode") there is NO OPTION in the SETUP tab to select AUDIO/MIDI setup. Instead it only shows
EDRUM/MIDI IN. Selecting this brings you to the PRESET selection screen. From there you do the same as in the video to select which kit you have and the
section optimizing the HiHat instrument. At this point there is no option to select a buffer size in EZDRUMMER 3. Instead you can bring up a screen that
shows buffer sizes, but this is from the ASIO driver, not EZDRM 3 and it won't allow you to change that buffer size because it's in use by the program.
This may be an Ableton thing, but I have no way to verify that. So this may only apply to Ableton, your mileage may vary.
BUT, there is no need to change any buffer size as it all seems to work just fine with absolutely no latency or delay of any kind (at least on my PC which
is a mid level unit, not a gaming machine and I am using a Roland TD27 kit). Everything else follows the video exactly.

One more problem I ran into. I am using the internal interface of the TD27 module, so the resulting audio goes back to the TD27 and I use the headphone
output from there to monitor the sound. When I strike a drum or any trigger on the kit, I hear not only the EZDRMR 3 sound, but the sound coming from
the TD27 kit. So there are two sounds coming into the headphones. There is no way to use the triggers on the TD27 without having a drum kit selected.
This really had me stopped for a while. I fixed this by noticing that there is a special button on the TD27 called "kit volume". By selecting that on the
TD27, was able to set the volume to "-INF" which is essentially 0 AUDIO output, the trigger output
still comes out to the PC. Problem fixed. You can pick any drum kit in the TD27 and do this as you are
not going to use the synthesized drums in the KIT anyway.

So I hope this extra bit of info helps anyone having trouble integrating their electronic drums in a DAW using the PLUGIN version.
And thanks, Nick, for a great video.

Great video! I'm entirely new to electronic instruments, despite tinkering with computers all my life. Very humbling to not know at all what I'm doing!
At first, I was just interested in plugging into the computer for the good, full speakers. It's nice to see I've got a ton more options after that.

Awesome - Thank you for showing how to change the default setup of the kit. I've been trying to use the Timpani from EZDrummer 3 Expansion Classic Rock ( the John Bonham kit ) for a Classical orchestral type part.
And now the possibilities are endless to create new custom kits.

Nick, It would be great to see a video on the issues that left handed players face and using tech that is generally designed for right handed players. As you can guess, I'm left handed and had to deal with a number of issues during my gigging days (I do studio jamming now with my band).

Man! youre a live safer!
I didnt had that much money to buy a roland kit, but i bought the milennium mps 1000 which i absolutely adore!
But i was still struggling with EZdrummer, or in general how to apply a VST :)
Now tomorrow my drum module, tom toms, and cymbals get delivered, so im gonna subscribe to your channel, and use this video tomorrow to set everything up!
I really didnt knew how to do it, but with your video it sounds easy enough!
So thank you again!

They only reason I bought an e-kit as I had EZD already. The sound in my headphones is WAY better.

Thanks Nick. I've been frustrated with getting my kit to integrate with EZdrummer3. This helped me tremendously, and it's by far the best video on EZdrummer3 that I've seen. God bless ya.
