Extracting RFID chip from Charlie Card

preview_player
Показать описание
When the Charlie Card is placed into a bath of acetone, the top layers quickly peel away to reveal the RFID chip underneath, with a copper wire antenna looped across the length of the card.

This method will work on any kind of plastic card without damaging any of the wiring or electronics underneath.

Woah this is pretty cool! I used this for my Clipper card (SF Bay Area Transit) and put it into a plastic ring and now I can tag on to the bus or train by just holding my fist up to the reader.

So much for the advice of using an old credit card to scrape off glued stickers. Any other flat material that is not attacked by acetone?

This video is very useful. Thank you. Does Acetone not harms human body? What precautions will have to be taken...and please give time reference.

If the RFID antenna is bent does that ruin the circuit ? Or if the antenna overlaps too much ?

Idea: think i can solder the chip onto an existing rfid tag without damaging it?

How long did it take to dissolve the card to the point that the chip was removable?

Can the RFID chip still be used? Doesn't the acetone render it useless?
