One Day in Yaounde Cameroon 🇨🇲

I'm alone and I am in Yaoundé, Cameroon so let's go explore and see what this African city has to offer. I stayed at the Star Land Hotel Bastos which is the newest hotel in Yaoundé and it was pretty good and not too expensive.

One GoPro, one Land Cruiser and one Canadian, that sounds like the perfect mix. I started by going on top of the highest mountain in Yaoundé called Mont Fébé from where you get a beautiful view of the city.

From there, a quick stop at the first ever mall in Yaoundé which was very nice I have to say.

And this is where the adventure starts! I made my way to Parc de la Méfou which is a primate sanctuary about 90 minutes from Yaoundé city centre... DO NOT use Google Map to go there! It made me take the weirdest route but I have no regrets because I met some... interesting people to say the least. Once there I have the opportunity to see many apes, gorillas and so much more.

After a quick stop at the Reunification Monument I decided to go the the Hilton Hotel Yaounde for dinner because I heard that there is bats there at night!

Overall a great day of discovering Yaounde. I really hope to go back and visit the western part of Cameroon!

I have a soft spot for Cameroon and this is probably the first vlog of Cameroon by a non-Cameroonian I have stumbled across, thank you for capturing it so beautifully. 💜

I’m Cameroonian and left home for the US 6 years ago. I really miss home and my people. This video gave me so many memories as I was born and raised in Yaoundé. Thank you for visiting my city and bringing on good memories. Glad to see how developed it is becoming. ❤

Dave, you were definitely built for Africa; you can drive on both the left and the right, speak French and English, and can live off the grid and in the city while producing these incredible videos. Congratulations to you and Tracy.

Cameroon is not just a French speaking country. We speak both French and English. And above all we are loving 🇨🇲

“Spaghetti omelette” sandwich is def a typical breakfast in Cameroon. Thanks for visiting Yaoundé, you’re incredibly kind, open minded and your French is 💯. You won a new subscriber! Wish you and your wife the best

Shout out from Nigeria🇳🇬
Thanks for showcasing this beautiful country🇨🇲 And I know very beautiful people🇨🇲🥰
The distance from my city to Lagos is about four times the distance to Cameroon but I know more about Ghana, Senegal and the rest of our West Africa (ECOWAS) region than I know about my very close neighbour.
I wish there’ll be more spotlight on Cameroon, especially western Cameroon. Personally, I feel that I have far more in common with them than with many of my own country

Its amazing how you get to work in other countries and still be able to take us on an adventure. That's special.

The 50min road trip was 100% worth it 😀😀. I've been supporting the indomitable lions for the last 16 or so years but visiting Cameroon had never crossed my mind, time to add it to my bucket list.

I am a Cameroonian who immigrated to the US when I was 16. I'm 21 now and I haven't been to Cameroon since then but I must say, you capture Cameroon so beautifully. I'm glad when I find videos about Cameroon on the internet. so this means a lot.
You officially gained a subscriber and a potential loyal viewer. 💙
ps: using a 4x4 is definitely the best car to dominate Cameroonian roads!
