This level was a little frustrating because Sonic dies way too easily in water, but the concept of the floating stone snake was really cool. I enjoyed this mission.

1:18 the ancient vibes kick in here bro, so damn atmospheric of what used to be a thriving population, turned into one echidna. A lost world lost to time… an overgrown adventure zone used to be a tribe of the peoples of the echidnas, lost to the greed of the leader, leading to this *Lost world, * a *Tricky Maze* you must navigate.

This theme is on another level, it’s very atmospheric it really feels like your exploring jungle/ruins and then you time travel back in time even. Your swept down a river rapids and crash into the rocks but you survive, standing in front of you is a huge temple, you walk into the darkness and then a rock is rolling after you and then you find the treasure vault. All your life staking efforts were worth it.

The level itself is a bit frustrating at times, but just I love how creative it is.

Had no clue about South American indigenous culture when I played this level as a kid, but now I revere it because of the Mystic Ruins and this song in particular.

Really has weight to it considering Spanish explorers like Francisco de Orellana said that these now lost civilizations had the most impressive cities they had ever seen, all in the Amazon rainforest.

I had 80 lives before I did this the first time and I game over’d twice before I gave up as a kid. I came back to this game as a teen and solved it in less than 5 minutes.
