My mom had a cousin and they were playing on a high area, outside of a restaurant. My grandma was inside eating with the others, not aware of what was happening. My mom was warned not to step on some garbage bags next to the rivierbed and she didn’t, but her cousin did and ended up falling into the rapid waters. He was screaming and begging for her to help him but my mom didn’t because she knew she would die. Her cousin died that day and she was traumatized for a year, and didn’t talk to anyone or say anything. Swimming is an important skill, thanks for spreading awareness, AQUAMEDIA.

May I add one factor that can cause a drowning? A friend of my mother drowned and she said it was an accident. When I was older she told me the truth that her friend was a good swimmer but was very drunk when she fell in.

I learned how to swim before I started kindergarten, in part because there is a park near where I live where you used to be able to take a shortcut in and out of the park if you could swim. It was only when I was fourteen when I fully understood it as the kind of skill it is, when me and my mate, who is a city girl, were in the park and I "pressured" us into taking the path, only to watch her almost drown. It is a downer when you consider what the cost is. To this day, four family members later (two of them having this problem as well), she is still deathly terrified of the water.

imagine finding a dead body as you're swimming around at the dark side of the pool and you touch the body's hair or something with your feel and you're like, 'hmm, what's this?" so you look down and see a person.

So I have a DEADLY BLOODY FEAR of going into a pool more than 4 feet. I finally went into 5 feet, and all I did was push my feet at the bottom back to the top

When you are drowning the worst things is friend because without helping they will laugh on you when I was kid I was going for
for swimming in a lake I was drowning and I was asking for help than without helping they laughing at me and telling stop it don't act like drowning and when they notice I'm drowning my brother jump in the lake and save me
