Mendelssohn: Scherzo, A Midsummer Night's Dream // Rachmaninoff

A Midsummer Night's Dream is a comedy written by William Shakespeare in 1595/96. It portrays the events surrounding the marriage of Theseus, the Duke of Athens, to Hippolyta (the former queen of the Amazons). These include the adventures of four young Athenian lovers and a group of six amateur actors (the mechanicals) who are controlled and manipulated by the fairies who inhabit the forest in which most of the play is set. The play is one of Shakespeare's most popular works for the stage and is widely performed across the world.

At two separate times, Felix Mendelssohn composed music for A Midsummer Night's Dream. First in 1826, near the start of his career, he wrote a concert overture (Op. 21). Later, in 1842, only a few years before his death, he wrote incidental music (Op. 61) for a production of the play, into which he incorporated the existing Overture. The incidental music includes the world-famous Wedding March.

I'm amazed by how good the midi file quality is. It's as if we're listening to a fresh recording by Rachmaninoff himself, glad to see you back!

Oh heaven yes!!! :D
ADD: Oh yeah, I think you should do Rachmaninov's take on Bach's Partitia in E major as well. :)

Hell yes! Thank
Will you open a Patreon? I personally can't help you, but I'm sure a lot of people have the possibility to do so.
Also, I know that you might be receiving a lot of requests from a lot of people, and of course you can't sustain that amount of work, but I'm a great fan of Scriabin's music, and I would love to see an orchestral piece by him in this high quality, maybe The Poem of Ectasy? Poem of Fire? Honestly, I don't even care it could be even a short piano piece XD. If you can't do it, don't worry, people will be always loving your channel 😉

Its a miracle! I'm really happy for your return, Czar! I always hoped that you could finish the WTC I and upload lesser known Bach pieces like his keyboard sonatas and fughettas.

Look how neat every single note and rhythm in this performance is! I've only ever seen two other Synthesia (non-computer) illustrations as perfect as this, and one of them was another Rachmaninoff!

The Zenph re-performance technology truly is amazing, brings about so many possibilities of hearing older pianists play in great quality. Hopefully they do this for more old-generation pianists such as Cortot. Also, this is Rachmaninoff's own arrangement of this piece, right? Either way it is great.
