You mentioning the pokemon named after your dad broke my heart. My first ever Shiny was a Drifloon that my brother caught for me in Soul Silver. I thought I lost that cartridge and I was so worried about it. I named it "Tom's Shiny" after him. Several years after he passed away, I was cleaning up an box in the basement and found my old system, with Soul Silver still in it. And there it was...Tom's Shiny. It's followed me ever since. <3

Daddo made me cry. I miss my dad so much, he passed when I was 14 years old in 2008. I still have the old Play Station 1 we used to play on.

A nice little tip to help folks distinguish purified Pokémon from XD from regular Pokémon.

In XD, Shadow Pokémon that you purified would get “purified moves”, which are moves that you can only obtain via purification:
- Examples include Refresh Magneton, Follow Me Magmar(which was actually used in a VGC once btw), Psycho Boost Lugia(yeah, Shadow Lugia when purified gets Deoxys’s signature move), etc.

The story with mike’s dad hits really close to me since my dad died in February 2005 right before emeralds came out and I was 11, and my mom got me emerald to help me cope.
