Written and directed by Academy Award® winner Sofia Coppola (2003, Best Writing, Lost In Translation), Marie Antoinette is an electrifying yet intimate re-telling of the turbulent life of history's favorite villainess. Kirsten Dunst portrays the ill-fated child princess who married France's young and indifferent King Louis XVI (Jason Schwartzman). Feeling isolated in a royal court rife with scandal and intrigue, Marie Antoinette defied both royalty and commoner by living like a rock star, which served only to seal her fate.

Sofia using 80s music is just so over the top and perfect!

the film was filmed to portray marie Antoinette's emotions that's why the music ans speech isn't century accurate, so that the audience can better understand what she was feeling and going through ( obvs the music should be something from that century but would we really get how mental and fun that party was if it was classical music that we don't party to today )

It just hit me that Count Fersen a.k.a. Jamie Dornan is the only one without a mask.

Now take a moment to think about just how many staff members a place like that would need every night to keep every candle, every wall sconce lamp, and every chandelier each containing up to 30 candles lit and filled. A fully illuminated dance hall would have the equivalent of a 40-60 watt overhead bulb and that would require at least 1000 candles and 50-100 wick lamps.

I think this movie is perfectly directed and my sister said Sofia Coppola is mousey. I'm like... what does that matter if she has talent and vision.

Con razón le puso el cuerno al pobre Delfin, esas miradas lascivas del increíblemente guaphisimo Conde Fersen eran demasiado perturbadoras para poder ignorarlas! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍

This a cool movie. It would have been so rare to film this in the 1990s or 2000s. We had a film like this called Titanic and a film about flying geese south for the winter. There was a bunch of films fo 1990s. In BC there was a lot of films about happy things like 10 things I hate about you.

They never get the rouge right in these period pieces. It’s laid on thick in this scene but it was much darker and in an upside down triangle shape onto the lower cheeks to mimic where a real blush would occur. It must be too bizarre for our delicate modern eyes

Hello, Is this the Temporal Investigations? for time travel related incidents?
Listen, there is some time travel schmuck that plays 1980s new wave hit music on some 1770s royal ballroom in versailles, france.
