As a professional truck drive. This is the primary reason I dont drive with the crowd. I slow down and allow people to pass me. I give myself space in case I need to break.

If it’s not snow it’s high winds. Wyoming roads are the worst

People crapping on about the CB.... like that is the problem. The problem is ALWAYS trucks driving too fast for conditions.

They should make alot of rest areas all over I-80 for rigs to pull over and wait out bad blizzards so they are not wrecking, they don't have to add stores to each one of the rest areas just make them areas where the rigs can safely pull over to wait out bad winter weather with bad blizzards, I hated driving my semi rig on it in the winter

Few if any of these truck drivers use or even turn on their CB Radios. The rest don't speak English. I will not go across I-80 in the winter months, too many damn fools out here.

The first driver interviewed summed it all up. “ I couldn’t see anything”. Wow! I’m assuming neither did the other drivers involved in the accident but some still ploughed on at over 60 mph.

Except this wreck was actually 50 miles west of the previous accident not east. Both horrific none the less and my sympathies to the families of those lost

US.. D. O. T ....Needs to close when Road have snow 4 all semi trucks and shipping companys no charge late fee at truck companys. I'm a truck driver and someone gets late to Walmart distribution center, safe way distribution center or other companies charge from $50 to $500 late fee when you are late.. these companies really don't care the lives of others people only there product and earnings

Its very simple, only needs driving slow in those weather conditions and everybody gets a safe trip. You can see clearly on the videos special truck drivers in high speed and then makes the problem even worse. You can't avoid a accident sometimes but you can escape safe from that only depends of who is driving. Breaks doesnt make miracles!

I have seen on a few other videos in these pile-ups that the truck drivers are not using CB's anymore! I think it should be mandatory to have a CB radio on at all times.

If I am not mistaken the original 2 trucks that caused the first accident were involved in a road rage confrontation at the time the accident occurred.

Wow, 22, 000 gallons? That must have been one hell of a long trailer about 100' feet long to carry that much liquid. Only railcars can carry that much. Most motor carrier tankers can only hold 9, 000 gallons or less. You'd have to pull triple trailers to carry that much.

Can any body spell WAY TOO FAST FOR CONDITIONS ? ? ? ?
This happens when companies tell new hires, 'They have to have
it there A.S.A.P. or they will be fired...

When in fact is, it's the driver who has the command decision to
park that truck until conditions improve enough for him to proceed..
He can do so with out any repercussions what so ever.. His safety
and the safety of the rig the load and others around him far outweigh
any financial loss the company might incur ....

They won't tell the new hire that though..
He has to learn that on his own ....

Why don't ppl slow down!!! These pile ups are becoming to regular everywhere not just Wyoming. If you're driving through Wyoming however, this right here is a big reason they close down in this weather. SLOW DOWN hospital visit will put you further behind if you get lucky and live.
