Rethinking democracy - building new models of citizens' participation

More and more citizens are questioning the existing democracy models and are rethinking new ways of a bottom-up citizens' participation. How can we build on best practices already in place? What is the role of local and regional level in strengthening the link between the different levels of democracy? These issues were among the topics discussed at the European Summit of Regions and Cities that took place on 3 & 4 March 2022 in Marseille.
