Is Justice For The Strong? | Plato’s Republic

In the beginning of Plato’s Republic, Socrates gets into an argument with Thrasymachus over whether or not justice is just for the advantage of the stronger. The whole debate deals with the fallibility of humans, crafts, people involved in crafts, and who the strong and the weak are. This initial back and forth leads to a much larger discussion of justice in Plato’s Republic.

God dang I love Plato that was so good I really enjoy your Plato videos first video of yours I ever watched was on the Symposium and just love it there's a different feeling texture to reading Plato I can't put my finger on it but I love it and I got that buzz watching this video. I agree that justice is (generally) advantageous for the stronger but I don’t agree that it is THE definition of justice.

Take a parking ticket for example, everyone pays the same fine but someone richer has less to worry about then someone poorer as they have more money and can more easily afford to pay the fine

Does Plato agree with Plato? After all, the only person arguing the position is Socrates.

a lot of assumptions are made in these arguments, a perfect craft? can we not agree nothing is perfect? let along a human craft.

This video is really strange, when I came here to watch it I was thinking what it will be about. After watching the video I still doesn't know what that was about.
I think there is too much of concepts used in discussion and you tries to explain only some of them but at the same time you did not even explained the main talking point that is being discussed (justice?). Also the graphs wasn't helpful a lot because I had no idea where should I look.
There is also a lot of quotes. I would say there is only so much knowledge that can be fitted into the video (the old classic "less is more").

But at the end I watched all of it so thanks for creating this one.

Get more spiritual, focus on how they thought of God and their view of God's view of them and how well they conformed to God's Will!
