Thank you for making this video. It helped me to initiate a conversation about slavery with my son.

Great explanation for kids. I homeschool my daughter and wanted to find an appropriate video and this is the one I think works the best. Thanks!

Our young children black white pink and green...they are sponges. My 5 year old grand neice has the most extensive comprehension and vocabulary of a 10 year old. She is beyond abcs and 123s. Kids as young as 5 are interacting with diverse group of kids and need to know the history of the various cultures around them. Especially cultures that are still being oppressed based on visibility...aka SKIN COLOR. Slavery History being taught in school teaches kids empathy and appreciation for people of Black African Descent and fellow citizen of their own country and even immediate family. Because whether folks realize it or not most families have people of black African descent as members. And by that I just don't mean biracial people. I mean most cultures and races are mixed raced scientically with black people. Discovery Channel Documentary the REAL EVE (though erased from youtube) is a video that even young children can watch in doses vs these 2 hour fantasy world programs on Netflix that I see parents using to babysit their kids on these tablets. Black History is world history and a world that tries to erase the past has no real future.
