Trump is representing the US workers that had their jobs sent to Mexico, when both parties dropped the tariffs on Mexico and passed nafta. These corporate owned politicians like Dingell are representing big car companies in Michigan that have factories in Mexico. I live in Oklahoma and constantly see mile long trains coming from Mexico heading north, filled with Mexican made Chevy trucks and Suburbans. When Trump's tariffs go up to 25% on those vehicles in October, that cheap labor in Mexico is gonna suddenly become real expensive for GM and others.
