I was 15 when I got this album at the mall in Louisville Kentucky ... I remember it vividly because I slipped on some ice and busted my thumb and it was the only time I cussed in front of my mother . When she saw my thumb turned the wrong way she said 'don't worry about it " the day I finally realized she was alright . PK

If Meatloaf would have taken the "hard rock" route in his career he would have been even bigger!..He had such a great rock voice, RIP.

First thing you need to do, is turn this up, now have fun with Ted Nugent!! 🥰
This man is a pure Rocker.. He’s not in the Hall of Fame 😢 & that shows you how political the voters with the Hall truly are! Damn, a man’s politics, he is one of the best guitar players around! If you can’t hear or see that, you’re not a true rock & roll lover! Keep rocking Ted & I’ll keep turning it up sir.✌🏻🇺🇸

TED NUGENT - ''Free-For-All'' - From Wikipedia - ''Free-for-All'' is the second studio album by American hard rock musician Ted Nugent. It was released in October 1976 by Epic Records, and was his first album to go platinum.
As the recording of ''Free-for-All'' commenced, rhythm guitarist and lead vocalist Derek St. Holmes left the band, citing growing personal and creative conflicts with Nugent. Two solid years of living together on the road had taken its toll on the relationship. Additionally, St. Holmes was unhappy with Tom Werman's production, saying that the producer was watering down the band's sound.

A full year before Bat Out of Hell brought him international success, vocalist Meat Loaf was brought in by producer Werman to sing on the album. Meat Loaf was paid the sum of $1, 000 for his contributions to the album, which included crafting his vocal arrangements and two days of recording sessions. He says that after he agreed to do the album he was sent a lyric sheet containing just the words with no arrangements. Having no idea what the songs were going to sound like, he then created the vocal arrangements for the songs during the two days of recording.

St. Holmes also sang lead vocal on several of the album's songs, including the single "Dog Eat Dog". He officially returned to the group after Free-for-All's release, and performed on the subsequent tour. Band management asked him to return at the request of Epic Records

This album brings back the MOST and the greatest of my first rock n roll experiences. It’s been a hell of a ride. So many great early rock n roll albums with many that I would fill as #1 on my list but this is on top of them all. After all these great songs and memories, I’ve just now learned that Meat Loaf sang “Writing on the wall, street rats, together, hammer down, I love you so I told you a lie”. Along with this I’ve learned “together” was written by Rob Grange the bass player and Cliff Davies the drummer. “Light my Way” was written by Derek Saint Holmes and Rob grange. “I love you so I told you lie” was written by Cliff Davies. Wow… Some great songwriting. I always thought Ted Nugent wrote and sang all these songs. I’ve read a few things about Derek, Rob and Cliff not getting credit for some of the other songs that were co-written like Rob Grange co writing Stranglehold with Ted. I love Ted to death but seems like he should’ve given them more credit. Sorry Ted, we weren’t there… We don’t know the full story but seems like they were shorted. Here’s to their songwriting credit. I never was a Meat Loaf fan but bottoms up to him…this is the best of ANYTHING I’ve heard him sing. His voice along with the lyrics, Teds guitar leads, Dericks vocals and guitars, Rob and Cliffs rhythm section are all spot on. It raises the hair on my neck and produces emotion in my soul. I have a new respect for Meat Loaf after all these years. Finally I think this first lineup was the best of all….Ted, Derick St Holmes, Rob and Cliff. Dig around a bit and you’ll find more treasures…like Randy Bachman on vocals, etc.
