Let's Talk About Health: Telehealth and Technology

Telehealth and technology are easy, useful and important tools to help provide high-quality care without in-person visits. Patients can talk to their health care providers remotely by phone or other devices. Care is more convenient by reducing travel time and time lost from work and patients can avoid contact with others who may be sick.

these are excellent ideas. one thing that I was wondering about if in the future will physicians or NP' s rounding times be added for the patient to see. I was thinking if patient could get a rough idea of when the care teams may be rounding and send a message to the mychart for the patient they could gather together their support team via video so that they are present during rounds. each team could send in a rough time frame. a lot of times when I enter the room the wife or the son or whoever is involved with that particular patient have missed rounds, and some have specific questions for certain disciplines like nephrology, endocrinology, or pulmonology and the patient is a lot of times overwhelmed because is there is a high flow of providers rounding and leaving cards at the bedside that I find on the floor most times.
