The real question is how fast was he riding there. To do that much damage to a nanoxcel hull you gotta be doing at least 60 mph. Even the engine shifted forward.

The problem is people come here to the keys and feel like once they get on the water on the jet skis are on their boats. They can do whatever they want there are limits. There are precautions, but they don’t wanna listen. They don’t wanna follow it and unfortunately, it ends up Unfortunate. The keys were seeing a lot of people do this and get hurt or ultimately losing their life.

Jet skis have always had an issue being small watercraft that appear to be harmless fun for anyone until you realize it's basically just a motorcycle you don't have to get a license to drive. One aspect of riding a jet ski that few people understand unless you own one is that you can't really come into a stop at high speed. If you think you're going to turn the handlebars at the last second and come skidding in like you did on your big wheel back in elementary school you're in for a surprise. A jet ski follows some very hard and fast rules of physics that can come as a shock if you're not aware of them before they happen. Another aspect is the tendency to "lock up" or immediately grab traction from the water jet the second after coming off a jumped wave or wake. If you happen to turn the direction of the ski while you're in midair, expect to be going in that new direction when you land. Even if your body is still moving in the old direction at forty MPH.

For everyone roasting the father... I think the kid panicked and pulled the throttle when they were pulling up to the dock.
Whatever happened it's a tragedy so show some restraint please. A family is in mourning.

This Dad was a complete IMBECILE!
How do you do a HIGH SPEED crash into a DOCK that's inside a NO WAKE ZONE?
He should of let the kid drive and they would still be alive.

Nothing is more important than being very safe on the water. I've been driving boats since a little kid. I remind my self constantly about safety while on the water. Never stop thinking about safety.

I sold my Scarab many years ago, got tired of dealing with crazy jetskies, cutting in front of me, I'm not getting sued for someone else's foolishness.
