Very good movie... Liked it. The KING(Mr.Lowell Sherman) is a very good actor. He is a gifted actor, Very talented. He instantly became one of my favourite actors.

This is a priceless pre-Code lost gem of a film. A palace coup comedy-drama about a small monarchy faced with civil unrest (to say the least!) Mary Astor (immortal femme fatale in 1941's chef d'oeuvre of film noir "The Maltese Falcon") is masterful as a rebelious princess. Rest of the cast is top-notch especially Star-Director Lowell Sherman as the wise, witty, long-suffering king at the centre of crisis & chaos. Very John Barrymore in his style.
Based on the play "The Queen's Husband" by Pulitzer-prizewinner Robert Sherwood.

Oh!Royal Blood! Nice word ! The king dynasty have the royal blood ! Actually my family is a king dynasty!so I have a royal blood! During my childhood periods my great grandpa told me about that and showed me the royal jewels ! Anyway I am a good cultured woman ! Great movie with the talented actress Mary Astor. She looked so young. In 1931 my mother was just a year old. Here are some quotes: 42:06 "This is the king speaking. What? It's spelled K.I.N.G, king." 46:06 "your Majesty, don't Majesty me." Thanks, CCC!

Nice movie but the jokes were for the smart set. Me I'm just as dumb as a box of hammers. It was pre-code so was hoping for a little leg or back. Still all good wholesome fun. A good watch. 🤡

So-called "Mary Astor" wasn't even her real name. She was born Lucile Vasconcellos Langhanke. So called "Hugh Trevor" wasn't even his real name. He was born Hugh Trevor-Thomas. First off why someone, especially a man, would have a hyphenated name AND drop his last name? So-called "Nance O'Neil" wasn't even her real name. She was born Gertrude Lamson. So-called "Gilbert Emery" wasn't even his 'complete' name. He was born Gilbert Emery Bensley Pottle. So- called "Alan Roscoe" wasn't even his real name. He was born John Albert Rascoe.
