Nice video! Class-T is a trademark of Tripath Technology, Inc. (no longer around). I was on the original design team at Tripath back when the Class-T amplifier technology was developed. I may be biased, but I always thought it sounded great. (I have the Lepai amp on a shelf next to me. Love it.)

Being battery powered, those DTA-1's can be very useful in theater. Allows you to put a point source sound anywhere on the stage if you can build the driver and amp into a prop or hide it close by. Put a BT dongle on it, or get the one that already has BT built in and program it into your audio cue software of choice, boom done.

Excellent for things like telephone sounds, music boxes/juke boxes, or anything else where having a point source sound helps sell the setting or plays a key role in a scene.

I bought Nobsound NS-01G for 25 bucks off ebay, and I couldn't be more happy with that purchase. Much better than the Lepai amp you're showing in this video, I've been using that one for quite some time. The nobsound (or Douk audio, the company uses 2 names - weird) has twice the power output, bluetooth/cable input selection and can also serve as headphone amplifier with microUSB power supply. For speakers it uses 12-24v dc in and is the best bang for your buck I've seen on ebay so far.

That dta-1 really hit the estetics, and that last one looks like a new version of the booster amp from 20 years ago that were pretty good to

I got a Lafayette tube amp from the dump. It cost me $0.00 and sounds amazing!

SMSL A2 is what I am liking best for my pc speakers. I used to have the DTA 120 but the analog volume control started getting scratchy after a while. SMSL A2 uses digital volume and also has sub output works great with the dayton B652 air speakers pluss dayton 8 inch sub.

i Have a Lepai LP 168-HA and its honestly fantastic. If your looking for very low and very high range in frequency, its the am for ya! i think it sells on Amazon for around $40, but for a 15x15Watt mini 12Volt amp, take it from me, its super good! 3 years and counting!

Very good review! I recently converted a car audio 3 way electronic crossover to run off ac using a laptop power supply. It works perfectly. Paired with a good power amp for sub bass or an active sub, these small amps could be perfect for a bi-amp or tri amp system, esp the first one. What do you think?

I'm intrigued by the newer amp boards powered by the dual TPA3116 chips. They rate these at 50x2 and 100x1, pretty sure those are bloated numbers. It's just too bad there are only a couple out there with cases...most are boards only. They are Class D, I prefer Class T for the little amps. Great video BTW. I enjoy watching your reviews and speaker builds.

Good video yes I own the DTA 120 one that you talked about and the APA 150 .For my home theater I use the APA 150 for my top surround channel for AURO 3D and the DTA 120 one for my front wide channels. There neat amps very versatile for what applications you need. Andrew

Very useful video... BUT: it would be great if you could write down on your plan product pages how many watts the speakers need.

I like these but I need a little more power I need like 60-75 watts per channel at a 4 ohm load, but I need one with regular terminals that can fit at least 10 gauge

The SMSL Q5 Pro can be a sweet buy if you can find it for £100 - 50W/channel and its got some sweeet inputs!
