ITX builds still provide a great experience. I can take real power with me anywhere I want to go. The only limitation is that there is no battery power lol

ITX is so tiny it becomes more expensive

I’ve outgrown the big pc setups. Having a minimal ITX build that is damn near the size of an Xbox that I can tuck away and move around anywhere is so convenient

I have 2 ITX computers and yes they're a bit more expensive overall. But the convenience is how I've gotten a lot of my army buddies into PC gaming.

But those ITX cases are soooo clean and a beauty to look at

An ITX build makes sense for me who's going to move several time in the next 3-4 years. Makes moving a PC so much easier.

I just built one last week and I absolutely love it. I managed to get the parts I needed (already had an old gfx card and cpu) for $600 then dropped it to $500 with amazon points. It is indeed pricy with less beefiness overall, but I love that I could really bring this thing with me anywhere.

I'd do an ITX build when i want to build a most-in-one media center for my living room, but thats also because it would be decor as well as functional. For regular usage, smaller cases just means harder cable management to hide

cpu + gpu = kidney
itx case + itx mobo + 1u flex psu = second kidney

Never thought about the price of this before, but it does make sense. Miniaturizing things to the limit generally costs more.

I'm going with matx for my next build. Done with the big towers. That was cool when I first got into PCs a decade+ ago, but now I like the clean minimalist look.

I personally think the ITX build is for the tech nerd who wants their setup with minimalist style.
Those three PC parts mentioned are indeed what makes it much more expensive and you need to be careful for picking other parts like the GPU and CPU cooler so you automatically need to carefully read the specification of your ITX case whether it supports the length of your GPU, fans or even the power supply (fortunately there are some itx case that support atx power supply)

Miniturization is always more expensive when tech is involved.

I know people like their clean minimalist builds. But seriously. The money saved plus the extra room for your build I feel is very much worth the slightly harder to transport chassis.

I had a guy rage comment on one of the content creators I follow and tried to claim the "ITX TAX" was a bogus thing. I am Glad you used those words exactly in this video. You are 100% correct that, on average, going ITX is more expensive or at LEAST the same price for something with far less "VALUE". Like paying $120 for an ITX case that's essentially an empty shell VS getting something like a Lian Li Lancool mesh with lots of hard drive mounts multiple glass side panels, fans, PSU shroud, cable management etc. Buying an ITX motherboard for $150-200 with one MAYBE 2 m.2 slots, and a single x16 slot VS Matx for $100-150 with 2-3 M.2 slots, 1-2 full length slots with more 1x slots... possible 4 DIMM slots... Sometimes it's not just COST bit also "value" in features.

Anyone remember the ivy bridge days where itx mobos were 45 starting? Miss those days

I can say one thing, mATX is particularly great for value in AM5 builds specifically. mATX AM5 boards are way cheaper than their ATX counterparts

With new entries into the mATX case market, too, it's a great time to build mATX now. Loving my AP201 build.

I love my itx, it did cost a pretty penny a few years ago but its basically my dream rig, my room isnt big and desk space is pretty much nil so sff pcs are my favorites

Mini itx pc is not only expensive but also has fewer options. There are only 2-3 mini itx motherboard SFX low profile cpu coolers, and there are a lot of stores that simply don't sell pc parts in this size

Yeah, as an ITX builder for my brother's build with an NZXT H1 v2, and more recently for me, The FormD T1 v2.1, there is especially an SFF (Small Form Factor)/ITX case. I had to fit my PC on a shelf somehow or it wasn't gonna be a DIY PC there.

I will say however, the NZXT H1 V2 can sometimes be found at $200, especially on Black Friday Deals, and it's an amazing case at a great price that includes (though unsure if it can be swapped out) an SFX 750W Power Supply, , 120mm AiO with Pre-Applied thermal Paste, and a Riser Cable.

I will say however, a downside (literally) is that the ports are gonna be at the bottom, so anytime you want to plug anything in, you carefully have to put the PC onto it's side everytime.

I actually posted about my ITX build on your discord, I thought my motherboard broke, and needed a new one. I was actually going to do a case swap, and get a normal mATX motherboard, which would be the same price. Thank god, my motherboard is fine, and my ITX build lives on to see another day.
