Yes we are and I love it. It was getting out of hand. Looks Like we going back to have 1 or 2 super stars and support cast. Bucks were a great example.

A Super Team is like MJ going to join the Pistons in the 1990 offseason after the Pistons repeated.

They’re gonna have to find some creative ways to keep talking about Lebron this summer

I respect how Kobe/Duncan won their 10 rings. Let the GM do their Job yet kept fire and heart within the team's identity which created pressure on the GM to get certain players who fit right over 3+ seasons (Shaq Parker Gasol Manu Odom Kawhi)

Omg lol The term “super team” came to be to define what the Heat did. It literally means player generated. There were no “Super Teams” in the 80’s.

If Giannis wins another one then I'll believe its over

The superteam era was the worst thing that happened to the league and now its coming to an end does harm damage to teams in the long run

the Spurs organization is quietly laughing. They stayed Relevant for 20 years off of teams built off of actually being built as a team from top to bottom. now these superstar teams cant even stay relevant for 20 games much less 2 full seasons

Everyone saw what the Bucks did. They’re inspired by the best player in basketball, Giannis.

I believe it's partly due to the fact that stats/accolades/pride get slashed into from being apart of a super team and when you have players of giannis stature saying they want to do it without teaming up I think we'll get more younger guys wanting to prove themselves rather than "fixing" chips like some feel LeBron did and others have tried

Super teams are like glass cannons. All success depends on 3 players' health, performance and getting alone with each other. High firepower at the cost of depth and resilience. Normal teams are built with more depth which means skill isn't as much concentrated on few players making the team more resilient against mishaps. That's why when super teams get lucky they will destroy the league (2017-2018 GSW) but other times they will fail.

Lakers have taught us this season that it's a very bad financial move with huge financial risk, to use most of your payroll to pay 3 superstars. This leaves very little to pay the rest of the team. Conclusion - you can't buy a championship with superstars. You have to have a cohesive team with continuity that play well together and that are durable.

So, has the definition of “Superteam” changed? I thought that it had to at least be a big 3 of MVP caliber or All NBA caliber players. The Lakers that won the chip 19 months ago isn’t a superteam in my opinion. Neither are the Nets with only KD and Kyrie, or the Clippers. When I think of superteams I think of the KD Warriors, the Big 3 in Miami, or the Big 3 in Boston (plus Rondo).

so now "a superteam" is ANY team with at least 2 superstars?

from my recollection "superteam" originally was dubbed to mean NOT just "an alltime great team" but a team formed by PLAYERS choosing to( rather than compete AGAINST each other) join together in order to make losing and true competition a more remote possibility

I don't consider the LA clippers and super team they just got two good players and a bunch of role players that's not a super team to me a super teams is three Superstars

Broussard is not being accurate of the 80s...those championship teams were built and started from scratch

I hope so…..I know super teams in every era but it was usually through the draft. Especially between 2015-2018 was crazy because it was boring you had the same matchup every year in the finals so it made everything else irrelevant.

Superteams come with ego's that can't always be coached thats the problem. It's not like they have Phil Jackson teaching them a system they buy into, they just play their game and expect the coaches to figure out everyone around them.
