Intro ends at 04:22. In the intro I talk about my experience of working in sketchbooks and a little about the sketchbooks themselves.

Amazing sketchbook tour. To ensure I'm not afraid of a blank page or starting a new sketchbook I don't work in a sketchbook in order from page one and on...I grab my sketchbook, close my eyes and flip to whatever page my hand stops on...I often times then take a dirty paint brush or old paint off my palette and flick paint onto the page...so now my page isn't in order and it isn't clean so I'm no longer afraid ...really helps me❤. Anyway, great video, and thanks for sharing. Don't be afraid of a blank page...lol

Don't be scared of the blank page. Beautiful sketchbook tour. I cherish my sketchbooks. Over the last couple of years I started embracing my sketchbooks and now I totally love working in them.

One of the reasons I adore your artwork is because it's so much like true Folk Art which has been my all time favorite as long as I can remember and I just turned 70. Even though I love it I don't have the patience or creativity to paint that way and found painting photo realistic portraits simpler because I didn't have to think or be imaginative. I do love loose watercolors too but everyone does it and it doesn't take a lot of thought either. It's just another style of painting. Tight details are very important in Folk Art styles and trying to paint loose doesn't really work for that. So please don't fuss about trying to get looser in your painting approach because your will lose that special charm that makes Folk Art so creative, extraordinary and special. Bottom line, don't listen to others opinions, just paint what you love to paint.

Natasha, I am a person who rarely comments on videos but I just wanted to say how inspiring I am finding your videos, I have only been subscribed a couple of days and i am finding your videos so calming and I love them so much! I have kept a sketchbook sporadically but you're inspiring me to rediscover it and your advice "don't be afraid of a blank page" is so perfectly in tune with the sentiment I get from your channel. Thanks for another great video 😊

Don't be scared of the blank page. Your content is so relaxing and inspiring. I recently did a short video on my channel on how I use various sketchbooks for different things and why. Your content has helped me so much in falling in love with texture and deciding which materials I should invest in. Thank you so much for sharing!

I really enjoyed this video. Watched it 2 weeks ago on my tv and just now remembering to comment. Understand an artist wanting to try new things and increase their skills. But please know your current style is an ongoing refuge for me. It is the perfect antidote for the chaos and turmoil of present day life. I can always watch one of your videos to lift my spirits and calm my soul. Thank you so much for sharing it wit us all.🥰
