You can turn off the automatic recording when you go into options and look on the page where you have the options for PHOTO / VIDEO mode. If you choose the other one you can start recording yourself when you are in the air for example and press the record button instead of it going automatic when taking off.

Looks like the DJI Phantom is the clear winner. Better picture quality. Much better range. Far less issues. Maybe the next generation Parrot will be better. This review just looks like a paid commercial.

Man the poor Bebop is getting a comment beatdown! I agree that video quality does not compare to GoPro or Vision+ but the Bebop is in a completely different category and don't think the intention was to compete with such. I do agree that a 1k price with the Skycontroller option is out of range but the $499 price range without doesn't seem to out of line for what all it can do especially when they update for Flight Plan functionality and additional firmware updates taking care of some of the video glitch issues, compare the cost of the Bebop vs a base model DJI Phantom add GoPro add gimbal you are well over 1k and that is with no FPV option or Flight Planner not to mention lugging all that equipment around, that is why I am a big fan of the Bebop. For ease of portability and YouTube video quality content the Bebop is spot on.... Would I use the Bebop for professional use, absolutely not but for some pretty solid YouTube content it works well for the casual hobbyist and with a little editing you can put together some pretty cool stuff. I wouldn't say it's a toy but not professional grade.... a happy medium! I do think Parrot rushed the Bebop to market and with some refinement this little bird could be a solid contender! Just my 2 cents!

Nice review. Are you flying on the 1200mah batteries that came with the quadcopter because that is some pretty decent flight time.

ya dude this video really didn't do justice for the bebop. set your Wi-Fi channel so you get no lag. always works for me.

Have you used the Sky-controller? I bet it's much better that way. I like the Skycontroller setup alot better than the dji stuff I think. Looks much better, and it's alot cheaper!!

Interesting video.  Thanks.  One HUGE disadvantage that I see, that you barely mention is the range.  It really has a short range.

Why the hell does the title say 4k UHD?? Nothing in the video covers that, as the Bebop is just HD, not UHD!!!

Thanks for the review, however I read that Bebop 1 has significant lag, which makes it hard to fly FPV is that true and if so is there any mod that can reduce the lag ?

I don't know man, not to impressive compared to your dv2+. I would stick to dji. Video is choppy, battery life is short. Range is short. Thanks for the video....I will stick to the dj2

hi, thanks for posting! this drone is really cool and full of feature but i'm mainly interested in FPV (with skycontroller) and what i see is a lot of lag. is this issue fixed by now? thanks again!
