I hope for open-source projects like klipper and mainsail (not to forget moonraker) that the manufacturers of all these professional printers have planned a reasonable budget for sponsoring them. Beyond that I hope that the licenses are respected and that the source code is made available if necessary. 🤞

Finally a printer big enough to print a 1:1 scale Minecraft block

I hope you will be covering some more industrial stuff. I've been there on Monday and there are way more high-end industrial machines than cheap hobby 3d printers.

For a long-term its important that the SoC on this machines has:
A full documentations
The full GPL code published
And an open and documented Bootloader unlike Elegoo / MKS with the ZNP klipper bords

I do see the need of having video sponsors every now and then, but I have to say that this is a bad video. It's just an advertisement with the most obnoxious kind of stereotypical ad wording. It's the kind of tone-deaf overhype, hit-all-the-talking-points style that Chinese companies unfortunately often gravitate too (which is why I found the self-aware Bambu Lab interview surprisingly refreshing). Love CNC Kitchen, but this aint it...

The problem with 1000mm^3 build volume fdm -- it's still hella slowwww. Manufacturers can't wait 15 days for a massive print to finish, there are quicker ways to prototype, and much faster 3d printing methods.

You know, I was shocked to see mingda get any coverage since they continuously put out mediocre half effort machine after mediocre half effort machine, but it all made sense when he said it was sponsored. I don't blame him at all, but I'm just explaining my thought process for the surprise at seeing a company that repeatedly can't perform being featured.

Maybe they've finally cleaned up their act and wont have things like ducts being lower than print nozzles, and have printers that come out with firmware that is fully baked. I guess we'll see, but I don't have high hopes.

The maximum flow rate I saw on the MD-1000D's front panel during this video was about 13 mm3/s. I hope the hot end is capable of much more than that. It would take weeks to print a part the size of this machine's build volume with such a low flow rate.

I figured in 202012 3d printers would just be a replicator from star trek.

Any hints as to what their industrial machines actually cost and where they can be purchased? I find "request pricing" buttons to be a real frustration. It makes specing and comparing machines a much more time-consuming process, often with hidden costs.

Huh, times flies so fast, I didn't know we were at 202012 already. 2022 seems like it was just yesterday

Imagine you walk into someone's kitchen and what you think is their fridge is actually a 3D printer.
