This happens when T follows N. Remember, you don't have to drop the T, but many native speakers will. Examples: center, interview, internet, twenty, wanted.

With a Flap T, there isn't a stop of the air, so there isn't really a release either. It's just forward motion and connection the whole time.

There's also flapping after an r in words that have r plus d in the spelling, not just t. Like in order, border, etc.
