To be charging for HD in 2025 is absolutely scandalous.

I cancelled my TV licence and Sky TV about a year ago and not looked back for a second. I love watching my DVDS with no commercials, pure heaven!

Was a Sky customer for 23 years, my wife liked the TV and i liked the sports. My bill rocketed to £118 last year, i spoke to 6 different advisors who all spouted the same price for renewal, £88pm, no HD, Netflix, Sports or Movies. Worked out at £57.50 pm for basic, non HD Sky on its own, £30.50 for broadband. I'm now an ex Sky customer.

I've just tried to sort my elderly fathers. 25 year customer...they said youre SKY VIP....what does that get me? A worse deal than a new customer. Great. Cancelled.

I was a sky customer from day one and had every new box they brought out including 65” skyglass. But I cancelled as I again took out a new contract but within a month I received three letters from sky each letter adding £3 to £4 a month to the £100 per month I was already paying ? So I cancelled my rolling contract and received numerous calls from sky in the following weeks asking why I left. After explaining how let down I felt plus how many years I had been a loyal customer I was offered nothing at all to persuade me to return as a customer so here I am an ex customer and I do not miss it at all + I save £1200 per year 🎉 👍

After being with Sky for 22 years, I finally cancelled in February and I don't even miss it one bit. I've just bought an Amazon HD Firestick for my older tv as it didn't have all the apps on it as I tend to watch a lot of Disney/Apple content. I've saved myself £90 a month .

I am 65 years old I signed up to sky about 10 years ago on a £30 a month contract or there about, my channel started to disappear even though they put it up to £70 a month. I phoned them and complained. Customer services were rude arrogant. Sky need to understand the public are not people that they can just take money off. This is the first company in my life where I will never deal with again what ever the circumstances. So glad their share price has fallen through the floor, just what they deserve.!

I ditched Sky 4yrs ago. I was being billed £78 a month for junk I didn’t watch. My ‘TV’ is YouTube as I control what I watch. I am now £936 a year better off. 😎

I watched Sky as a kid, now as an adult I haven’t watched TV channels in about 15 years. YouTube premium is my only subscription I need as it’s the only thing I use.

What I don't get with sky is they charge us all this money but every 15 mins they show ads for 5/8 mins.

I got rid of Sky 15 years ago, can’t say I miss it, just got rid of Netflix too because of the price rise and that there wasn’t anything I was watching so probably won’t miss that either.

I cancelled weeks ago after my contract ended. I was one of the first in the UK (Sky Pioneer) to get Sky. Over the years they have done various deals with me but after cancelling my BBC (tax) licence last year I no longer watched any Sky channels. During the cancellation phone call (about an hour) I was finally put through to one of their high-profile support agents who did his utmost to keep me. But at the end of the day, he agreed they have got their pricing all wrong. The trouble is I have until the 6th of April to return the 'Q' box but they still haven't sent me the return details or packaging for the return. I suspect they are waiting until the last minute and hoping I rejoin to prevent a fine for not returning the 'Q' box. It's despicable how they operate.

Your right my wife only watches the bbc mainly. I installed my own system in the end with a sat dish and humax freesat box.. So we record everything and watch later. Been doing this for years. Only had one fault on all those years when i replaced a faulty LNB, a ladder job. But ex electrician retired. so it's not a problem. A neighbour got charged £300 to have their lnb replaced. It cost me only £25 for the lnb brand new from a Ebay supplier. Thanks for info.

After over 20 years as a loyal subscriber to the complete package, i move house, and Sky wanted £600 for the privileged to watch Sky at the new house. I Cancelled immediately, and then they wanted there box back that I had bought 2 years prior as the plus box had failed.... complete robbing GITS!!! I'm glad I got rid, I'm over £1000/yr better off and better for it.

I have had Sky TV for 23 years - tried to get them to reduce the price...nothing doing...so I've cancelled.

Ive never given a penny of my money to sky, and stopped funding the BBC in June 2019. My money is much better spent elsewhere.

Problem with Sky, it is expensive, but it forces you to watch adverts, due to live TV, making you obligated to pay for the BBC license, because the BBC doesn't use adverts. None of it actually makes any sense if you think about it. Save money, get rid of it all. You are better off with putting the money you give to Sky in bonds. If you put £100 a month in bonds for 30 years you would get nearly £100, 000-130, 000 in the end.
