Many thanks...you have confirmed my belief that that my unrestored 1942 original, with original axe, shove. jerry can has a Willys MB tub still .with horse-hair in side cushions Engine is a Ford. Utterly reliable and all parts original. America's only true sports car Sir. Soft top, ten on the floor and bucket seats!

Throttle Butterfly shaft wears in the carb cast iron part of carb body causing air to be drawn in altering the running mixture. I machined mine out and put bronze bushes/bearings with a new old stock shaft.

Greendot - a little leaded fuel every so often will lubricate the heat riser valve from the inside. The lead particulate in the exhaust coats the pivoting pin where it goes through the cast iron manifold.

Very nice under the hood. Carb rebuild kits are available if owners want to keep the original carb.
