Gracias y brava. A lovely tribute to your mom! Didn't realize Spain had held and ceded so many countries to the US. Hawai'i has a similar legacy. It was an internationally recognized kingdom, but US/Western interests had their eye on the rich land and strategic south Pacific location. Queen Liliu'okalani had a tough choice. Hold out and see her people wiped out or step down. She stepped down to keep her people alive. There's been a sovereignty movement in Hawai'i and there's a case, in the World Court, to dispute the US's questionable right to take over the islands and reclaim its independence as the self-governing Kingdom of Hawai'i.

Hello. I discovered your channel while I was traveling to Queretaro, Mexico. I loved the way you tell history based stories. I came from Bangladesh, it was 1999, came to do my higher studies, but ended up settling down here in the US. But my heart was looking for something else. When I visited Mexico for the first time in 2019, it won my heart and soul. Recently I became a Temporary Residency in Mexico. I will be moving there in a few years. Sorry, enough about my story. I am reading a book now, "The trial of Henry Kissinger" by Christopher Hitchens. Very interesting.
