The Department of Justice arrested 50 people, most of them parents of college students, in what is being called the biggest university admissions scam ever – 'Operation Varsity Blues.' Basically, parents paid a middleman, who then paid college coaches to pretend their kids were student-athletes being recruited for sports teams. Actress Felicity Huffman, who is married to William H. Macy, was arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud. Lori Loughlin, who played Aunt Becky on 'Full House' was also charged.

What's sad is that is not just fraud, it's theft... they're stealing an admission from a truly deserving student, a scholar athlete that actually _earned_ their way in.

Instead of bribing college admissions they could’ve used that money to invest in having smarter kids.

Who is here after watching the Netflix special on the scandal? It's a great watch if you haven't seen it. Money can literally buy you almost anything you want.

Spoiled brats getting into college with parents' money. In other news: water is wet.

I'm surprised it took this long for it to come out.

This isn't that much different from rich people donating a lot of money to their schools and then having their entire families go there.

Just the beginning...I’m so fed up with some celebrities and many rich people behaving entitled.

Disgusting. Why is he smiling? Does he know how many students had their dreams shattered? They worked hard, and were very much qualified, but got a rejection because of this wealthy elitism that can buy their way. This has tainted the reputation of these schools forever. The students are vindicated too late. Their relationships ended because they went to different schools, their safety school wasn't going to do much for their future, it's a big lawsuit that is going to happen from these victim's.

The rest of the names are CEOs and the like, but they don't have the same name recognition.

Why are we only talking about the actresses kids? What about the CEOs and other high profile people? We are truly a caste society where you cannot escape your circumstances no matter how hard you try.
