It sounds like the airline staff and receiving airport personnel did a fantastic job on handling this emergency both during and after, getting people treated as soon as possible. And great job by the flight crew, getting the airplane under control and landing safely.

This is an act of nature and nothing can be done about it.Always keep your seatbelt on.

Don't blame Boeing for this one. This can happen with any plane if you're in the wrong place at the wrong time. The plane was able to land after all this.

Sorry for the man that lost his life, prayers go to his friends and family. Hope the FA’s and the passengers are okay. I always have my seatbelt fastened when I am seated on a plane.

Another example why you should always buckle up even when that light is off.

0:53 this is not altitude, this is vertical rate in fpm! Due to flight radar the altitude changed from 37000 to 37400 and back. The level of modern media is depressing

The fact that the plane stayed in one piece and landed safely is a testament to the fantastic design and construction of the plane.

One time I got into violent turbulence. I still have a flight phobia ever since

Thank God it didn’t crash otherwise it could have been more catastrophic. Prayers for all on board and those who got hurt and for the families of the deceased.

Always put on your seat belt when seated even though there is no 'Fasten Seat Belt' sign switched on. You'll never know when Clear Air Turbulence will hit, and thanks to climate change it will become a common occurrence.

The reporter suggested that infants need to be strapped into car seats. Good idea but I have never seen that in my travels. Families cannot afford the $ for another seat and the regulations permit an infant sitting in the lap of a parent. So expect to pay more.

Remember, you are traveling at 500-600 mph. Keep your seat belt on.

I agree with many people who have commented... Boeing has nothing to do with this incident. I also have to wonder... how many of those injured, were in their seats, but not buckled....? This makes a word of difference... It is a common rule... if you are in your seat..."YOU SHOULD BE BUCKLED IN".... this is a perfect example of "WHY".... if you just happened to be standing, for what ever reason, that is unfortunate.... as long as the pilot made no mistakes... like knowing if the turbulence was detected(and had time to react) and didn't put the seatbelt light on and or come over the PA system and make an announcement. Airlines, and certainly not the "manufacturer" are not culpable....

Don't blame climate change for increased aircraft turbulence.

As a flight consultant wind shear at that altitude turbulence yes and I have always been proponent of seatbelts at all times maybe not necessarily tight but at least fastened

It’s kind of difficult to have seat belts fastened for 16 hours straight

Absolutely terrifying. It is awful that a man died, and that others had life changing injuries like broken backs and necks. But never forget that the plane weathered the turbulence and actually landed safely, just as it was engineered to. Incredible work by the crew.
