TCL R635 - Resolution and Refresh Rate Demonstration

A demonstration of the TCL 55R635's refresh rate of 120Hz at 1080p and 1440p, and 60Hz at 4K.

NOTE:

In the video I explain that the TV can receive a 4K signal at a refresh rate above 60Hz but that it will downgrade the signal to 60Hz. However, my statement that the TV is what downgrades the signal may have been wrong, because I didn't take into consideration that I was using an HDMI cable with a bandwidth of 18Gbps, which isn't designed to convey a 4K signal at above 60Hz; hence, it may be the HDMI cable that downgrades the signal. In order to be absolutely sure that the TV is what downgrades the signal or that the TV is capable of even downgrading such a signal, I'd have to use an HDMI cable that has a bandwidth of 48Gbps, which I do not currently have.

Hi great video. I am curious abt the 1080p or 1440p at 120 hz but at what color format ? 422, 420, 444 or RGB ? What happen when you enable hdr in windows ?

Question : Can you show a game at 1440P running between 60 and 120HZ to see if VRR actually is variable? Or didn't I get the concept of VRR with these new TVs. Does it work like Freesync and Gsync?

You have the white line at the top of your screen at 1440 120hz too. Damn it. I'm sending mine back because of this and have another on order but I'm betting this is the TV's fatal flaw. You can see it on this tv during the capcom part of the load screen.

The hell is the point. Unless your paying for a 3000$ PC you aren’t going to play any games at 120hz at 4K with max settings.

U need HDMI 2.1 for 4k 120hz. The R635 only has HDMI 2.0.

I have this TV and was messing around with my PS5 but it says it's only able to do 60hz at 1080p. The manual also says the max HZ is 60, so I am a little confused.

Maybe hdmi is??? Just costum-forced resolution work 1440p 120Hz ithink.(i think not nativ support and this opened forced resolution) On my sony work but not native like LG tv work nativ 1440p and 120Hz max or 4k 60Hz, for older tv's. . And I go on 1440p 120Hz at costum resolution and progressiv manual setting on nvidia control panel. I have 2018 tv 9 series sony. This is shame to not work on my 1440 native 120 or 1080p native 120Hz. Dont no how work on hdmi 2.0.i have Just for now hdmi 1.4.. Shame on me😬. I buy and order on web hdmi 2.0 or 2.1...

On this tv i think work 120Hz on forced costum 99%. For 1440p...dont have this tv..
