What I like about these reviews is you’re not trying to impress your personality on your viewers unlike another popular online car reviewer I could mention.

I really like my Kamiq and its overall talent surprised me - especially with how meh a lot of other small SUVs are. It's also far better than both the T-Cross and T-Roc for quality.

I get 54mpg on long motorway trips, and never feel the need for any more power (mine's the 115hp). Great car.

Finally the first reviewer that has said the 1.0 95 is all you need.
We were pondering which engine to get but opted for the 1.0 95 5 speed in SE trim.
The first 1, 000 miles while it was running in the engine was a bit lumpy below 2, 000rpm but now everything is freed up I can honestly say why you would ever need more than 95bhp in a Kamiq, it pulls great, the 5 gears are spaced perfectly for the torque and power band and the suspension is not suited for the car to be hooned around.
We got a great deal on our car at £16, 867 (had to wait 6 months) but I often have a smug look on my face at other Kamiq owners who have thrown money at their Kamiq when it's really not required.

Having checked out the car in the showroom, this is a great review. Considering the size of the vehicle, it is surprisingly practical and spacious.

I like the way you treat your review cars with respect, unlike other wow reviews slamming things, scratching things and always having to do 0-60 which in reality life doesn’t happen as we know…keep up the great work. 👍🏻🙏🏻☺️

No badge snobbery on What Car unlike that lot on Carbuyer brilliant reviews.

I had been considering the Scala as a replacement for my old Honda Jazz, but wanted the slightly higher stance of a small SUV, this certainly is a candidate.

sir, in addition to your review. Mentioning prices for upgrades was very useful.

Great review! I've had my Monte Carlo for a couple of months now, and I can vouch for the strength of the mid-range 1.0 115 engine. It's strong, smooth and *incredibly* quiet... This trim comes with the digital dials/display as standard, but I do wish that I'd added the variable boot floor, winter pack and a reversing camera - just as this review suggests. They'd have just completed the package. 👌🏼

My 1985 Honda Civic had an under-seat storage tray as standard, my parents' 1990-something Volvo had a parking ticket clip in the windscreen, so neither of those features on this car is particularly "clever". Why can't the heated windscreen be ordered on its own instead of only with the £700 climate pack? Ford fit them as standard to almost all of their cars, and it is a vital safety feature in autumn/winter for UK cars

Isn't it long overdue that What Car should use Newton-Metres for torque? I have no idea what the lb-ft values mean.

Just ordered the Kamiq 1.5 SE Drive dsg in metallic grey, loved the car on the test drive it felt so refined, downside is that I have to wait 52 weeks for delivery (manual is just 10 weeks), nevertheless in my opinion its better than the VW and SEAT equivalent by a wide margin, so worth the wait.

We love ours ( we got one of the first in Australia) and it’s a near perfect car ( a minor exception being a lane keeping assistant being too sensitive) . Skoda is (IMO) such an underrated manufacturer. Skoda is unfortunately not very well known here - which is a real shame . Our Kamiq is quiet, economical and surprisingly fast. Compared to the VW T-Cross the Kamiq with the same specification the Skoda is significantly cheaper. Great informative review.

I am leasing one with the more powerful one litre engine and the only option is the adjustable boot floor - neat and simple and should be standard. 10000 miles at £201 a month over three years and I like the basic blue colour. Practical, economical, comfortable and a decent drive - objectively a great car to own. Wish they did a mild hybrid version like the Puma which was another car I was looking at but was just too expensive.

Just over a year owning a 1.5 SEL DSG. I like everything about it except the seats. Too low as he mentioned and not particularly comfortable. The centre bulkhead digs into my left leg most of the time. And I really miss the variflex rear seats that my Yeti had. The Yeti was a lot more “clever” in its use of space in a car with similar overall dimensions to the Kamiq. I’ll be getting a Karoq next time

I had one as as a hire car when I had an accident and I was genuinely shocked how quick this was for a 1 litre

The only problem with the Kamiq is the Scala. If you dont get the high driving position of an SUV why not just buy the hatchback version which even has a slightly bigger boot.
