You make a really good point. I can't agree more, reparations are a must for the African American diaspora. I say this because I'm afro caribbean. The only thing I can say is reparations should be done in a way that if won't be wasted. Not direct cash per month but more like subsidies, grants, bailouts, etc that will jump start the community. Once this is done then it will be used efficiently Vs a check in hand.

Things are passed down in white families.

You know, ever since this new presidential election season started, I've been hearing the conversations about reparations nonstop. I personally agree that yes, this country should pay reparations for the damage they've done, trauma they've caused. Same with the other european colonizing countries, reparations should be paid, that way everyone can move on and forward. The pessimist in me however believes it's a bit far fetched and too late for this to happen.
