Followed this to the letter, tried both Windows 7 and 8 with this, just won't work. Always crashes after the Old Wounds mission ends, every time. I've had to replay this mission like six times now, and I'm about ready to just call it quits and uninstall.

Mine ended up working using the capability for Windows XP. So if you’re still having trouble, try that.

Guys, here's a short fix. I found it a few days ago.

Windows 10 won't let COD BO2 load memory dumps, or in short prevent data execution because it believes black ops 2 (nosteam) or any other cracked version to be a virus, damage-potential.

1) Go to cmd as administrator.
2) Type in : BCDEDIT /SET {CURRENT} NX ALWAYSOFF
3) Press Enter and Restart PC.

This will turn off DEP on a default setting. COD BO2 will then have no problem loading on WIndows 10.

Do make sure to download pre-requisites. Direct x and all. The above solution will make it work. :)

didnt work for me tho. i tried all of this on multiplayer, single player and zombie all 3 exe files each and when i chose windows 7 or 8 compatibility mode both didnt work, the game even didnt start... im using windows 10 64

Running the Windows troubleshooter fixed it for me!! I loved this game on Xbox, and I can't believe I'm playing it again!

Guys I found Rewinding the story to the previous mission (Mission Select -> Rewind Story) worked for me. Even with same choices made again!
