As Halter Ranch is about an hour from me by air, I investigated. Their beautiful location and pilot-only cottages are tempting, as is the narrow 25’ landing strip. Pauline from Halter Ranch provided a detailed reply. She did not mention a pick up service from your parked airplane. Possibly it’s included, but there was no mention, meaning you might need to walk or ride 3, 000’ back to the winery and restaurant. Only lunch is served; no breakfast or dinner, and all meals require a reservation; keep this in mind if you will overnight with them. You will need to add Halter Ranch, by name, to your aircraft liability insurance policy and provide a copy to them in addition to their liability release signed by you. From their website, I was unable to determine pricing for anything, leading me to believe there may be some nasty pricing surprises. Whatever the price, it just might be worth it because it could be an amazing experience. I would appreciate detailed feedback here from a regular, non-social media influencer pilot.
