Yes. The SC is a very political court. This is exactly why they should not be appointed for a life term. Term limits are necessary!

The average law abiding citizen is baffled by the idea that any other citizen is above the law and should be granted immunity indefinitely. Grand juries indict not prosecutors or judges, then a jury of your peers listen to evidence and testimony to determine if you're guilty. The judge then renders the sentencing. Appeals generally follow. It's the same process for everyone. Democracy requires it.
