I like the title but from a different perspective: I dont need to forget my past as I've accepted it as it is. Each memory just complies with who I am today, and the more acceptance I nurture my spirit with, all is there to remember only leads up to this very moment. And all I could ever care is this only very moment that 'present' occupies. I dont need the past, I just need to seize the day.

Past is not the definition of what we are in the moment - it's experience that can be percieved as a lesson for us, successes and failuries we faced, people we loved and people we lost. We cannot forget it, but we should acknowledge it as part of us, while aiming further, understanding what is important and what is not. Try not to escape it - flow with, meditate with it, understand your feelings and don't clinge to it - and you will become more present.
