How I Fixed 'Rockstar Games Launcher failed to initialize or exited unexpectedly' RDR2 Red Dead PC

HEY! I followed your videos to the T, but out of curiosity I deleted the "RDR2.EXE" file and relaunched the Rockstar Launcher. The Launcher downloaded the .EXE file again and after that I was able to play the game normally. I have not encountered the "Rockstar Games Launcher failed to initialize or exited unexpectedly" error again! Hopefully this works for someone as well!

This is what fixed it for me guys !

If using an nvidia GPU, remove from the system32 folder
Disable Integrated Intel GPU
Make sure you’re using updated drivers.

I then right clicked the rockstar launcher, properties then compatibility mode and chose run as administrator that worked for me hope it helps some of you !

You work so hard for the community, man. I wish rockstar worked as hard as you. But unsurprised that there've been issues. They make awesome stories but suck at looking after the customers.

Can also confirm this method worked for the "Social Club failed to initialize graphics device. Error code: 18" when launching with Vulkan. Thank you so much! Don't know why Rockstar hasn't mentioned this fix anywhere official after 2 years of this issue existing.

i did this and it worked
go to documents/rockstar games/red dead redemption 2/settings and delete everything that is in the settings folder

Doesn't work for me, but thanks for the suggestion! I guess we just have to wait until R* puts out a fix. Obviously it's beyond comprehension how bugs like these are still even a thing in 2019, but I just want to play the game and move on.

I opened rockstar launcher manually instead of using steam to launch game and it worked

RDR2 launch problem issues. I bought from Epic store. I did same for epic launcher as mentioned in video and after 70 hours I finally load that shit. Important to press launch game from epic launcher, when rockstar one is closed. DO NOT CHANGE in graphics settings to DX12 crash again and had to delete system.xml from rdr2 register tho as mentioned in commenst on reddit.

I was looking for the solution, and turns out a simple reboot fixed my issues.

FYI, setting the launcher as Run as Administrator caused GTA V to not be able to launch. Somehow it causes the steam launch command to think GTA is already running after it tries to start the launcher twice.
So far I still get the Launcher Exited Unexpectedly error trying to run RDR2, but I'll at least give the compatibility checker a try.

I have Ryzen 5 2400G and Nvidia GTX 1060 6 GB, i got it working by updating my Bios to the version before it supported Gen 3 Ryzen. Good luck Partner
Ps : my mobo is Asrock AB350 Pro4
