The gender rule in Spain did make me giggle. If a chair is feminine then it must have female sexual organs? A bench being masculine speaks for itself being butch!
Isn’t it easier for Spanish to scrap the feminine & masculine thing when naming objects! In England we got it totally right! He= male, she= female! Cup= A cup! A car= car. Isn’t it sexually discriminative when the majority of items (example car) is male.

If we are to describe an object as male then your sentence would be……. Im washing my male car with my female cloth. If it’s not sexist using feminine & masculine in Spain I bet these objects are all feminine! sauce pans, laundry basket, rolling pin!! Hair dryer!
I asked my Spanish partner today if he can explain why the milk is female? Is it because it comes from a female cow. It’s totally confused me learning about female milk & male benches! Thank god the English language never named things like cars as masculine! I hope I don’t sound odd, if I want to learn Spanish please could someone provide me with a list or male words & female words!
