STORYLINE:
Hundreds of people took to the streets of New York City’s Financial District on Monday for a civil disobedience to demand an end to the fossil fuel industry.

Demonstrators gathered at Zuccotti Park holding banners reading “fossil fuels kill” and “just transition ahead,” before marching past the New York Stock Exchange to the Federal Reserve.

Dozens were arrested and taken into custody for blocking pedestrian traffic and entry to the Federal Reserve.

An NYPD officer estimated at least 100 arrests occurred.

The action took place the morning after 75,000 people flooded the streets of midtown Manhattan to demand an end to warming-causing fossil fuels.

Sunday’s March to End Fossil Fuels featured such politicians as Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and actors Susan Sarandon, Ethan Hawke, Edward Norton, Kyra Sedgewick and Kevin Bacon.

The demonstrations are part of the annual Climate Week, which coincides with the U.N. General Assembly.

Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is convening a new Climate Ambition Summit on Wednesday, where only leaders from nations that bring new and meaningful action will be allowed to speak.

Toss them in the ocean. Sharks have the rights to a warm meal.

Protesting anything is a complete waste of time. Taken from a playbook from the 50s. All it does is get you on television, which no one watches anymore
