Lake Charles Toyota - 2014 FJ Cruiser 4X4 - Crawl Control Demonstration

Hello again. We decided to have a little fun and play around in a 2014 FJ Cruiser. I sat down with Sales Consultant Joey Leblanc, my product expert on the floor, again to show the vehicle. We decided to play around with the Crawl Control system it have in available models. We went out behind our dealership and decided to do a short demonstration on how to use the system as well as using the tradition 4X4 shifter the FJ has.

Like always, let me know if there is anything you want to see.

Thank you for explaining the noise Crawl Control makes. I just purchased a 2015 and engaged Crawl Control for the first time yesterday; when I heard that noise I thought I'd somehow broken or damaged the system!😅😂

Thanks for the demo. My 2007 has locking diff and A Track No crawl. I’m thinking of snagging a 2013 that has crawl and did not know what it does . This was helpful

I used the crawl control today for the first time in my 2013 FJ. The lowest setting makes so much noise and shuddering I thought it was broken, according to this video, that is normal.

My 2012 FJ doesn’t have this, I was searching around looking for what the knob between the map lights does… I saw it in a pic on a 2013 FJ on EBay

pretty sure you can change from 2wd to 4wd going at any speed under 100km/h and low range you must be stopped

The 2013 FJ TT has craw control also. It's not just a 2014 thing.

I have a 2007 FJ and for going down steep hills, this would be great. Now I have to ride my brakes down them.

I have an 07. Although crawl control is a great feature...I sort of feel like it makes offroading pointless. Offroading is about technique and challenge. It seems that approaching an obstacle and stopping, hitting a few switches and letting the vehicle drive itself over the obstacle with your only input coming from the steering wheel is not fun nor challenging your skills. They are now experimenting with self driving vehicles. Can you imagine the backlash they will get when the law is set that you must let the vehicle drive you at all times.
They clearly have the technology to remotely control a vehicle...but yet you still have drag racers, Indy, NASCAR etc...motorsport would be far safer if there were no people in the car...but would you want to participate? Would you even want to watch it?

Driving is an experience...driving your own vehicle connects you to that vehicle....in otherwords....many many people LOVE their vehicle and love driving it. These newer features like crawl control..seems to disconnect the driver from the experience of handling your vehicle. Not for me...

Uh, worthless video?  You are showing me that the feature is operable.  Potential buyers (and web surfers) want to see how it works on rough terrain, which is what Crawl Control was designed for.  Showing CC on a flat grassy trail is absurd - it wasn't needed, so how are you truly demonstrating the feature???
